 Topic: Hump in Ceiling and Joist locationPosted: 10 Apr 2018 at 8:34am |

Hi All! I just noticed this hump in my ceiling. Its not wet, and I can push on it easily and put it back into place. It seems like their might be joist there, as there are some staples you can see in the photo.
Did the staples just pull out, Is it safe to re-staple it in that location? What is the likely hood that water damage caused it?   |

You might consider using a stud finder to see if it is happening where the 2x2 cross framing is. If it ain't wet, then it's not likely due to a leak. You are probably right that it's a matter of some staples pulling out of the 2x2 roof frame or maybe the guy with the staple gun missed hitting the board dead on and only caught the edge with one of the two prongs of the staple.

If it was caused by a water leak, it should cause some discoloration and/or streaks on the walls. So I would look around for "escape routes" to see if there is any sign of that.
Otherwise, it sounds like staples may have come loose. Since your R-pod is a 2018, is this a warranty claim? |

Hello. Good idea on the stud finder. I will try that. I looked around and don't see water escaping.
As for warranty, yes it is. But if it is as simple as this, not worth taking it to the dealer for me. It will be there for weeks, and mine does a really...I mean really bad job on warranty work.

I threw in some staples and that seemed to fix it. See my other post on trying to find a ceiling paint for touch ups.
