Other than increasing the CCC of the R-Pod, by what 30lbs, is there a good reason to remove the spare tire, and mount from the TT to the TV. What about the TW.

I moved my spare to the inner front storage area.  Is that a bad idea?
It allows me to hang my bike rack in the original rear spare tire receiver tube.   It also gives me more room in my parking spot.

Hi TomA...Sounds like a good reason to me, but does that not add to the TW.

Anything added forward of axle adds to TW, proportionally. Proximity to tongue is more, toward axle is less.

This is understandable, of course, but is it a problem if the tongue weight still remains safely below the maximum rating?

Simple answer is no. Best to allows know what you're tongue weight is. Then you can adjust or equip to compensate if it gets heavy. The maximum rating is very important not to exceed.

I solved this by installing a BAL hide a spare under the rear of my 179.
