Hello,

I'm also a member of the Facebook group and there look to be some issues with greasing the axle bearings.  From reading, it appears the factory doesn't ship new rPods with much grease. I also have heard of people over greasing the bearings and breaking the seals using a grease gun?  My question is, how can I hand pack the bearings with grease, or is there no fear of putting too much grease using a grease gun?

Thanks in advance for any help!Smile

The factory doesn't fill the hubs with grease. the bearings are lubed properly. if you pull and hand pack the bearings, you will have done EXACTLY the same thing. Pumping grease means you fill all the voids in the hub, and force the old grease out the front. It will take a tube or nearly a tube, per side.
Rotate the wheel as you pump, use a manual grease gun, you won't blow any seals.

You can find videos on YouTube for lubricating the Lippert and Dexter axles. It isn't hard. I have done this multiple times since purchasing our R-Pod. Most recently, I did this before we left on our recent trip. 6,500 miles later, we had no problems.
