2018 171. Anyone have any recommendations for an adjustable or removable Pedestal conversion for the dinnette table. I see some options available, but interested in some real feedback.
We need more room for our feet.

I got my pedestal and mounting plates at an RV store that also sells boats. it is the same set up as a pedestal seat on a "bass" boat. I used about a 2' square piece of mdf board with some plastic laminate glued on the top. A smaller piece for the floor just to keep from kicking it each time. One has to learn how to get up by not leaning on the table. A good exercise for thigh muscles. It comes apart in 3 pieces and rides on the bed.

A major turn off was the useless dining table.
Since there are just 2 of us, we did not need to make the dinette into a
bed, so we did not need to keep the table.
We scrapped the original table and built a new one. The original table was 20”x38” and the new
one is 24”x42”. It is ¾” birch plywood
sitting on 2 metal columns that are mounted to 5/8” plywood on the floor. The floor plywood is sized to fit tightly
between the hassocks so it does not move.
The table is easy to disassemble for travel, can be used outside in the
R dome and is very sturdy  Vann

You could check my mods for my version of a conversion. I went with two pedestals for my 179's table like Vann did. I also added cleats to the ottomans with hook and loop fastener on the top and the corresponding part on the table. The table top sits down on the cleats after the pedestals are removed and the slide-out moves over the top of it. The pedestals get placed into a bag (made from an old towel) and stored under that. It leaves the bench fully available for use while we are traveling and the slide is in. I did not add anything to the floor. There were sufficient screws holding the bases that it seemed unneccessary. I wouldn't sit on the table while it is in place, but the pedestals are very stable.
