I have an 08 Tacoma and I'm using the Fastway E2 WDH and sway control hitch. It's pretty easy to use and only takes me a few minutes to connect my truck to the Rpod and I can back up without having to remove the tension bars. The Rpod tows like a dream with it. And I got it on Amazon for around $250. You'll probably spend close to that just to get sway control. Offgrid, your link has an extra S at the end Best of luck to you.

+1 with the Fastway E-2. We tow with our Dakota and even in severe cross winds, you hardly notice the trailer. In fact, the ride is a little smoother with the trailer than without. We do limit our speed, though, to 60, but more for fuel consumption and in recognition that our truck has seen an awful lot of miles.

I've driven with and without my Andersen weight distribution hitch. I MUCH prefer having the WDH than not. I suggest you get one. |

When we bought our new 180 in May I towed it home with just a ball hitch on my 2011 Tacoma PreRunner. Though the rear of the truck only dropped one inch, I was noticing that the trailer ‘shashayed’ side to side on the highway and the rear of the truck bounced a lot going over freeway overpasses.
Once I added the Equalizer 600/6000 all the problems went away. It tied the truck and trailer together into one unit, and sway completely disappeared. When I had the (loaded) tongue weighed it came to 540 lbs, with a full propane tank, a full fresh water tank, and the group 27 marine battery installed. I highly recommend the Equalizer. Customer support is fantastic!!!! You can back up with the Equalizer but really tight backing turns are best left to the ball hitch. I switch hitches when I back the rPod into the parking stall next to our garage. |

I tow our 2017 180 with our 2017 Tacoma Off Road long bed. Took it from California to Yellowstone and back this past June. I just use a friction sway bar and it worked just fine. I've never put them on a scale yet. I really need to do that. The Taco sits down a little in back but not bad at all. I think I would add air bags to the truck first but I rarely tow with full water.

Rather than air bags, check out Sumo Springs. I added a pair of the blue Sumo Springs and have been happy with the results, even when not towing. I ordered my set from Amazon. They are not that hard to install, but that assumes you have the proper tools, the main one being a good torque wrench for properly tightening the U bolts for the axle to the proper specification.

+1 to Sumos. I have them on my Silverado. I also like them when not towing. Install is different on vehicles, as mine did not require any torqueing.
