I noticed when I was packing up our camper and checking battery tie downs - I inadvertently and gently pushed the gas line and heard a hiss and smelled gas immediately. The gas knob was on obviously and turning it off eliminated the problem. The leak is from the propane tank to the first intersection off the line. Can I retape the fitting or is more action needed?

Change out the pigtail! I have had that happen also where it was leaking at the junction of the hose and fitting at the regulator end. Changing it fixes the problem.
