Perhaps I could find a place to powder-coat them. I think that is what was on the original fenders. I was thinking also of using truck bed coating on the insides since that would be more impact-resistant.
I did find one more item that was damaged. The cover for the black water tank flush port was ripped off also. I'll need to find a replacement cover. I may need to replace the whole port. There are some scrapes on the side from the screws when they pulled out. It looks like the tread hit it and it started separating on the back side and then peeled off toward the front. The fenders sure are not sturdy enough to take the impact of the tread. The worst thing was that these were Carlisle load range D tires. There was wear and I was going to check them when I got here to our daughter's house. We did not quite make it. We now have new Goodyear Endurance load range D tires. Hopefully, they will be good for a few years.

Powder coating would be pretty robust. I'm not sure the truck bed coating would stand up to the abuse. But let us know if you go that route! |

Truck bed coatings are much more robust than Plasti-Dip. They are meant to be permanent and to stand up to things being tossed in the bed. I think it would work.

There is something that I've been looking to coat the running boards on our F150. It's 7 years old, and the clear coat on the running boards is flaking off from sun exposure. I'm also on an F150 board, and what some have started doing is coating them with a DIY bed liner material called Herculiner. That might work well for your fenders.
EDIT: I called the local Line-X franchise to see what they wanted to do my running boards, and the guy on the phone quoted me $675. I guess he didn't want to do it.
