I have a 2022 r-pod RP 193. When the AC is running it blows directly on us when in bed. Has anyone else experienced this problem? If it's an adjustment I'd like to know what it is. It seems to me like there could be a deflector that could be placed in front of the vent to redirect the flow.

Since I don't have that model, I don't know how the furnace is placed in respect to the bed. I made a deflector for ours because it was directly under the bed and I wanted the air to blow out into the open space rather than the limited space under the bed. You can find a description and pictures in my mods. See the link in my signature.

Good day.
We have a Coleman Mach a/c on our 2021 192, maybe yours is the same. If you look at the air conditioner from the inside, there should be an adjustment you can make using the black knob on the bottom of the plastic shroud. There should be two, on on the front (bed end for us) and at the rear of the shroud. You have to make sure at least one end is open so as to allow the cold air to escape. The roller knob on our a/c was was super sticky when we first got it but has loosened up now that we have used it. I had to really push to get it to partially/fully close and then open the adjustable plastic louvers inside each end of the unit. There is a little bump on the knurled knob to let you know when it is fully open or closed. You could also check your thermostat to see if you can set the fan on the a/c to a lower setting to reduce the amount of cold air blowing over you. We usually don't close the bed end a/c air control louvers completely, just enough to keep the ice off our foreheads! Good luck, and I hope this helps you out, Andy |

Sorry, I mis-read. Yes, you should be able to adjust which vents are open to control the amount and direction of the air flow.

If I was looking to do something like that, I might just fab something from foam & fiberglass. Foam & fiberglass is pretty simple construction, and the resulting deflector might even have some sound deadening capacity.

In furtherance to my last post, another thing we do at night is set the thermostat so that the fan stays on even when the a/c has cycled off. This helps alleviate the loud startup that can happen when the a/c kicks in...and is good white noise while trying to sleep, especially in noisy areas.
Have a good one, Andy |
