If you decide to go with a new TV, I can't say enough good things about the Ford F150 with either of the EcoBoost motors. Roughly the same mpg as my previous Frontier 4.0 engine. The Powerboost configuration seems to be gaining popularity as well.

+1 to gpokluda's comment about the F-150 ecoboost, though given the weight of the proposed new trailer, I'd sure opt for the 3.5L engine instead of the 2.7L. The difference in towing capacity will give you a comfortable margin of weight range.

+1 (or 2) on the F150 with either of the EcoBoost engines. We love ours, even when not towing it is our goto for road trips. It is just so quiet and comfortable.

2023 Ford towing capacities: Ford F-150: Up to 14,000 lbs with the 3.5.L Ecoboost, depending on configuration Up to 12,300 for the F150 Powerboost and up to 10,000 with the F150 Lightning. The F250 SuperDuty (Diesel) can tow when properly equipped a gooseneck or 5th wheel trailer up to 22,300 lbs!

We have the 3.5 Ecoboost with the Max Tow package so our TC is 14,000lbs. Like GlueGuy said, it is very comfortable. The MTP includes a 36gallon fuel tank. It's nice to be able to get gas when you want to and not when you have to.
