We just purchased our 2010 173 and love love love it but we do have an issue we would like to share. As 173 owners know there is a couch in the back that can be pulled down to make it a bed however when we pull ours down there is about a 6 inch difference between and top and bottom cushions so no one could sleep on it. Is this the way the couches are made or is ours broken?

+1 on Welcome!
I used to own a RP173 and did most all of my sleeping on it. What you describe does not sound as though things are right. When folded down, mine was completely flat.

Thanks for responding, it's great to know you are all out there !!!! We love our pod no matter what and since this is our very first experience with a coach we are very excited and have many questions. We have two dogs and thought this would be a great way to have them travel with us. We also want our grandson to have the outdoor experience. We have only taken her out once but had a ball. Since we are in Southern Calif we have many opportunities to stay along the coast and enjoy the beach. Thanks again for supporting us.

Hi, Knead2fish. Welcome to Podding and the forum! I have a 173 and bought it for the same reason you did: to take our dog on extended travels and to occasionally take along guests. Mine is the 2009 model, so I'm not sure it's the same design and dimensions as yours. It does lay down flat, and I have comfortably slept on it several times. I hope you get the issue resolved quickly. I love being able to store stuff underneath and behind that couch. :-) We have a 3-inch memory foam pad to beef up that dinette mattress, and when we're not using it, we stash it right behind that couch.
