KyMooses, I am jealous, We love our 172, but I think the 181G is the best layout for 2 people, I tell myself, if or when we get grandchildren, the 172 will be good due to the fact of the double bunks in the front, I like the slid out kitchen and the I dont have to make the bed into a dinette on the 181G, then there is the garage, thats where I would be most of the time. Anyone want to trade a 181G for a like new RP-172 ??????????

Another thing is my wife and I never eat inside the Pod, unless it's freezing cold or we're just exhausted and don't want to be outside, sometimes we'll do something quick in the microwave. But we knew we'd never be using a dinette, so the 181g not even having one was awesome. It's marketed that the little half circle countertop next to the door is a little place to sit and eat at and they give you two stools that go under the counter. But again we never eat in there and the times we have we've just hung out on the bed. I like having the extra space just as space, it's very open inside and is just perfect for us!

Recently bought a brand new 182G... almost new is still almost. There's no warranty on that one. There's 4 of us... myself, wife and DS8 and DD5. If it's raining, there's just enough room for all of us... otherwise, we're never outside... and the garage/grill area makes it very easy to stay outdoors.

WHAT!!??? With the vaunted "spaghetti" function?? only occasional use??!! lol. This last trip down to Diamond Caverns we cooked inside twice.. a new record. Well 1 and a half times.. I used the cook top for part of a meal while the rest was done on the little Weber.. Our micro has still only "microed" popcorn and water. Baked biscuits and muffins and cookies etc.. |

Hehe, no we do "cook" in there and often. Spaghetti, lots of baked goods, the occasional casserole, baked chicken and chops, stuff like that. But we don't eat in there! Just meant that we don't miss not having a dinnette to eat on because we cook our food and then head outside!

$12k? Not bad. We took our 182G and ripped out the rear kitchen and stuck a queen bed in there. It's really roomy now, and we can open the back and take in the view. It has a versatile floorplan if you like to modify, and my wife and increasingly larger teenager fit with no issues (we do spend more time inside for the colder trips, so internal space was an issue.) However, it's also very nifty as is, too.
No regrets here. -- Lou |
