I am 49 and the hubby is 51, we sold our Jayco travel trailer three years ago and tented until we knew exactly what we wanted which was a new 178 that we got this April. Our kids are 20, 23, 25 and 28 and we all camped together this past month, thank goodness for the Rdome.

Husband and I are both 49. We spent 8+ years camping with two boys in a pop up trailer. Due to work and sports schedules – camping became more difficult the last couple years. Last year we made the decision to sell the pop-up – bought the R-pod this June!! Oldest son has graduated college and is working and supporting himself; we had to say an emotional good-bye to the youngest son on Monday as he left for Marine Corp boot camp (hardest, saddest, most proud moment of my life – so far!).   Although we’ve been backyard camping since June our “official shake-down” is this weekend.  Looking forward to the distraction of thinking about the black tank and hot water heater – and not the roller coaster emotions of being empty-nesters!!

RRL, My eldest son is a Marine and it was terrifying for me at first, but he loves what he does and being the mom of a Marine is an honor that I cherish. Good Luck and enjoy that empty nest.

Been out Podding this weekend so I need to catch up on the forum and weigh in.  The pod is my first rv/trailer purchased in 2012.  I'm 59 and my hot fiancé is 52. She grew up camping in trailer luxury, me in a tent.  I now love it when it rains at night!
