Topic: trailer jack wheel Posted: 21 May 2014 at 12:21pm |
Used to pulling a tent trailer and use a wheel on the jack when parked. Noticed on R Pods that they don't have a wheel and the front jack is on a block of wood. We like the wheel - easier to get the trailer on the truck and to make slight adjustments when parked. Does anyone use a wheel? Is the R Pod too heavy to use a wheel?
Thanks for any info. |

Welcome. You should be able to add an aftermarket wheel, like one of these.

Make sure to only use it on a level surface. If you remove a wheel chock on an incline with a bogey jack wheel on the jack, the trailer will move.

Just bought an aftermarket wheel. Thanks for the reminder about being level. I could just see the pod rolling away...

We, upon receipt of our 171, replaced the jack with a Bal swiveling jack and wheel that attach to the side of the frame. Works just fine. Easy to move trailer when hitch is just a tad off the mark. Easy to move on our driveway to park it. Whole unit about $50. on Amazon. Safe Travels.

I put a flat pad on. You don't need a block in many cases. It does slide a bit if you need to horse it around. Bad for the back I suppose. But you can do it.
