Calendar Event: Hinges on Marwayne's cabinets Posted: 21 May 2014 at 11:08pm |
I've installed a cabinet in my 177 according to Marwayne's helpful plans and pictures of the one he installed in his 172, but need to make and mount the door (see attached picture of Marwayne's craftmanship. I can't magnify the image to determine exactly how he hinged the darn thing. It also looks as if the door is at least 1/2 " oak plywood. Marwayne, if you see this post, I would appreciate your enlightening me on the issue of the door, mounting and hinging it. Thanks.

O.K. here is the cabinet in my 177 - almost complete, save for some wood putty to fill in those shiny nail holes where I didn't set the nail gun for deep enough penetration ... and the cabinet door. I will take your advice above, but I will have to borrow the neighbors router ... I am not the competent carpenter that some of you folks are. Thanks to Marwayne and the rest of the R-pod modfia for your support and advice.

Some of the text in my previous post was cut off. Here is the complete post:

Heh. I didn't see the "non-" in the nonmortise hinges. So I won't need a router after all. Again, thanks for the advice.

You don't have to in this case but you can cut mortises with a good sharp chisel.
