Well, we leave tomorrow for our first R-pod trip. Pointe Claire, Quebec, to Vancouver and back with a lot of side trips along the way. About 8k miles I guess. I've spent a lot of time on the Forum and it's been a fantastic resource, thank you so much. I hope I've got everything coveredSmile

Here's what it looks like here this morning.
Glenn

Thanks for sending us that lovely weather. We were enjoying a nice warm spring with Tulips coming up... then we got a rare spring visit from "The Montreal Express"Shocked. Happy Travels!

Safe travels, Glenn.
You'll need lots of windshield washer fluid as the trucks go by!
Make sure to post lots of pictures on this thread.
Cheers,

I am jealous Glenn, although we did pick up another 6 inches of snow last night with more forecast for this weekend.  Have an enjoyable and safe trip. Come to northern Michigan if you want to see even more snow than you have.

Have fun!  Just got several inches of snow here.  I'd still go camping!

Update on our trip.
We got just a little past Saskatoon when I heard an odd noise. Pulled off the highway and found that a bearing was burned. I was lucky that I heard it and that I stopped before the wheel burn through the axleUnhappy As it is the trailer had to be towed/carried back to Saskatoon where it will wait for a new axle until the middle of May. We'll have our vacation without the trailer and pick it up on the way back.
This is really disappointing. I had advised the dealer that we were planning this long trip and asked him to check the bearings, brakes and tires. He said we needed new tires, which we bought, and that everything else was good to go. We went about 4k kilometers. Before the bearing went!

I hope that when I start hauling the trailer again I won't be constantly worrying about it happening again.

Condolences on the bearing. We were behind a tractor-trailer coming out of Flagstaff, AZ when one of the wheels did just that. Our car has the scars from the tire fragments to prove it. We slowed way down when I felt stuff hitting the car. It was not much longer before I saw a black cloud around the wheel, then sparks. Next thing the trailer ahead of us lurched and the wheel came off and crossed in front of us, coming to rest on the shoulder. It was burning as we passed it.

I really should have stopped and gotten the driver's information to file for repair. It will cost me about $450 to fix. Unhappy

I am glad you felt it and stopped before your wheel went on a separate trip from the trailer. It is inconvenient, but it could have been much worse.
