So was I. I did it anyway. You can do it too.

Take the door off and support it on a couple of sawhorses. That will help greatly. To remove, take the door off the hinges, leaving the hinges and screen attached. Be careful and place some protective padding on the wheel well or you will end up scratching it like I did. Unhappy At least I could get a little paint and touch it up. You get to benefit from my mistake, as you will be able to avoid doing likewise. Get some help when you remove and reinstall it.

When you put the window in, have the outside of the door facing down. Support the door and window from underneath. That will help when you go to start the screws. I found that a power drill/driver worked best for starting and driving the screws. When the thread catches, it will draw the two parts together and compress the rubber seal. That will make it watertight. The hardest paret for me was getting the screws started. I am just glad that lots of extras were included. Big smile

The original mattress is right on the wood. While you have the old mattress out, you could do something like seal the wood with a polyurethane finish and/or cover the wood with some sort of contact adhesive plastic, but what you do is your option.

Have you gotten up the nerve to install the door window yet?

I was actually thinking about putting a polyurethane down, but I think I'll pass. Ya, the old one was right on the wood. I might just throw an old sheet down first. Neg on the window. Have been busy the past few weekends, so maybe this Sunday!!!! My jigsaw is several years old, but still works. hopefully it will have plenty of power. definitely going to buy a good blade. ill keep you updated. hogone

The jigsaw will probably be fine with a new blade. You are only cutting through a thin layer of fiberglass reinforced plastic, a thick layer of polystyrene foam, and another thin layer of fiberglass reinforced plastic. Just go slow and keep the dust blown or vacuumed out of the way so you can see your cutting line. I used a battery powered Porter Cable jigsaw to cut mine.
