Last one, I promise! I just figure outlets should be convenient.
This is my fourth Blue Sea Systems adapter install and I think it's really the best place for one. It's an easy drop (I use a pyramid sinker tied to a string) to the panel. I use 14 gauge for the two adapters close to the panel w/15 amp fuse. The adapters on the other side of the pod are wired with 10 gauge and run to short stop circuit breaker under pod. This location is convenient for small inverter for TV or charging station for USB stuff when TV is not docked. BTW, I measured the TV with Kill-A-Watt while hooked to inverter. Draw was 15 watts. Fun!! |

I noticed you used 90deg elbow on the coax, to keep the profile lower. I like that idea. I have to go scavenge through my home theater stuff, I think I have one somewhere...

Yeah, Retro. I used a 90 on both TV and wall. I use a stubby HDMI cable on back of TV too. fred

I'm curious about your inverter... I'm looking at a pure sine inverter but not sure if I really need to. Do you have a pure sine or modified sine inverter?
The pure sine inverters cost 2 to 3 times more and I don't want to spend the extra money if I don't need to. All I would use it for is the television.

In the low wattage full sine wave inverters it might be cheaper to buy a 12 volt DC TV if that is all you might run on it

The inverter I'm using is just a little Cobra CPI 480. I use it for the TV, power a small lamp occasionally or to charge up laptops. It's really never given us any problems and it's cheap.

Awesome.... Thank you that will save me about a hundred bucks or so!! Thank you so much! JandL - As far as buying a 12 volt TV. Unless I can get one for less than $125 or so, I don't think that would be the cheaper way to go. I can buy the pure sine inverter 140 watt for about $125 on amazon |

You should look at Amazon Warehouse Deals, that's Amazons open or damaged boxes and they have some great deals on TV/DVD Combos. They have a Proscan 19" for 113.74, the regular price at Amazon is $129.99. I have picked up at lot of items for my trailer and have not problem from what I have received. Type in RV in there search box and then on the left side pick Automotive to narrow it down to RV stuff. I pick up all my water filers from them, you just have to go back and look again another day if they don't have what your looking for the first time.

Good info on the wattage draw while on the inverter, that question has come up before.
