Would love to hear more of your trips to Yellowstone camping. What campgrounds you enjoy most there.etc. my husband and I are big nature lovers and hauling our just purchased R pod will hopefully be visiting a lot of national parks. Even to Yellowstone once when our kids were little and stayed at the lodge. Alaska is my favorite place to visit. Been there three times in the past five years. We rented a car each trip and stayed at cabins each stop. Did you enjoy your Alaska adventure? What areas did you stay? We have been to Denali, anchorage, Seward, homer, Valdez , coopers landing, and all the towns in between. We pick up our 180 in about two weeks , so excited! It took us two years to decide on this R pod.

Thank you ! It's going to be so wonderful to get back to camping. Can't wait for our foam trip to Ohio to get our trailer. About mid May.

That deal is posted here, too.
When we bought our popup we told ourselves we would use it at least once per month for 6-7 months of the year, and we did, including a week at the beach every year. Then we did the same with our pod, and eventually started doing 4 week touring trips around the US.

p40whk , a valid question.
Most people who buy a camper love being near forests - maybe just for hiking, while others like the convenience of having the portable sleeping quarters for using away from home instead of hotel/motel (think racing events, musical events, motorcycle racing, fishing derbies, mountain bike festivals, etc). Some people have used tents for a long time, but finally give in for better living/sleeping quarters and the convenience of having a built in restroom. I only use my R-Pod 5-7 times a year, and so far only 3 to day weekends. I want the bathroom, I like being not cold at night, and I like that the R-Pod has the capacity to handle my needs for more than 3 days without needing to recharge batteries. I mountain bike, so it was only the convenience of being able to bring my sleeping requirements with me, being closer to the trails I like to visit (Vermont, New Hampshire), and I don't have to make hotel/motel reservations, and I have almost all the creature conveniences of home. In the future, I plan on going much further from home, to many other states and discover new trails systems that so far are only wishful thinking. When deciding a camper is what you WANT (no one really NEEDS a camper), you have to have an appropriate tow vehicle, a place to store the camper, ability to maintain it (not that much work actually), and the time to actually use it in a way that you enjoy. Yes, buyers remorse is something that could happen, but carefully thinking about it before buyer usually prevents that.

I bought my 2013 R-Pod 177 from Couches in Summer 2012 and towed it 700 miles home to Connecticut. No regrets. $13,295 .... The local (9 miles away) dealer was stuck at $17,000 for the same camper... It made it a no brainer to take 2 days to go get it.
