I have a 3 year old 178 model.  The edges of the U shaped dinette (I don't know the term for them) that you have to slide over to get out of the dinette were SUPER cheap..like vinyl wrapped cardboard.  Has anyone replaced them with something of higher quality?  Sorry if this has been discussed...I didn't know what the thing was called.  I took some pictures of a brand new 178 and apparently Forrest River improved the part, which now appears to be made of wood.  I wouldn't even know what to ask for if I called the dealer or FR!  Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, and the stupid things were replaced under warranty once but they just fell apart again!

They hurt my thighs so I ripped mine off.  The cushions didn't move.

And if they do move, a couple of strips of hook and loop fastener will fix that.

Without them, the cushions don't stay in place very well.

Yes, Dinette cushion keepers, that's what I call them. Well I have the same problem on my 178 and lots of other Podders have replaced them with home built stuff. Definitely on my list!

We trashed the old cushion ends and replaced them with solid wood ones:

I would second the build your own out of solid wood or I'm sure the factory ones are easy enough to take apart and put back together with new sturdier material to support it. I would use like a 1/4" or smaller wood thickness for the backing and possibly make them not stick to far up the cushion to avoid them digging into your legs when hanging off the side. I would not even go all the way up the back cushion or all the way forward on the seat cushion. It should not take much to hold that cushion in place.
