I am planning to purchase a 2017 R-Pod 171 in a few months.  Was wondering if anyone can tell me the hitch height for this travel trailer.  I live in FL and will be picking up the trailer in Ohio in route to Michigan, so I want to have the correct receiver on my vehicle when I arrive.  Was also wondering if a anti-sway bar is recommended.

Welcome to the group!! If memory serves 17 inches. Some recommend the anti sway bars, boils down to personal preference.

Just measured the top of our 2" ball on our Explorer, 16."  Sway bar, a necessity for us because of a short wheelbase.  Many on this forum who have full size pick ups don't use them, while others do, as Leo mentioned, personal preference.  My take is that I would rather err on the side of safety (in other words, spend the 50 - 75 bucks on a sway bar) than save a few bucks while towing a pod that you have thousands of dollars invested in.

Many also opt to have a weight distribution hitch which will smooth out the ride as well as provide sway control.
