Topic: Plastic molding between sides and roof Posted: 14 Aug 2016 at 8:11am |
Hello,
I have found that the black plastic molding that runs along the edges of the roof line where it meets the sides of the pod have been damaged and are cracked (probably by hail) in many places. Does anyone know if this is difficult to remove and replace? Not sure if new molding snaps in, slides in,...? Also, any ideas where to buy it other than through the dealers? Thanks! |

I noticed that the thin plastic "cover" that runs in the top rail is cracked on my RP179 also if that is what you are looking at. It looks like it would be easy to replace. I believe it's there to hide the screws that hold that rail on.

It sounds like we are talking about the same thing.

I just had a length of the thin flexible plastic in the molding replaced by the dealer. I had damaged it a bit on the front curve by bumping into a building... long story.
The dealer called it 'screw cap' and charged me 45 cents / foot, plus labour. Seemed pretty reasonable.

Insert trim. Cheap to buy, very easy to install. Remove one screw on each end and it will peel out.

I appreciate the link. Do you happen to know for sure if I need the 1" size? My R-Pod is sitting in storage about 30 minutes away...hoping to avoid a trip out to measure.
Thanks a bunch!

Someone else would need to verify the width.
