Has anyone tried running tires with a D load rating on their 'Pod? After my experience a month ago with two blowouts, I'm looking for any way to run as sturdy of a tire as possible. Discount Tire has Carlisle HD 205/75R14 tires with a D load rating and M speed rating, but they're a little pricey to buy without knowing if they'll work well.

I just installed a set on our 171. We will be leaving on Sunday for a week. Not sure I will have much to report, but I think they are fine. They are inflated to 80 lbs. Do not use the pressure listed on the sticker on your Pod. Safe Travels.

Hmm, the Carlisles recommend 65 psi. Where did you get the 80 psi recommendation?

D's should run at 65psi, E's at 80. Read your sidewall.
We went to D's last year, 5K miles or so on them, no complaints. We ordered from eTrailer, did all three tires. Tires. |

Dealer recommendations again? Check the sidewall. Ds should run at 65psi. Ds at 80psi? Stand back!

That's comparable to Discount Tire's price on the Carlisles ($102 per tire). I've not found any Es in a 14" rim diameter, but they'd be overkill anyway. Cs are under-kill for larger 'Pods because they're running at or near their rating by the time you add cargo. |

Yup, inflate to what the sidewall says. Do the same for the TV when towing.

Camper Bob, Please let me know when you are on the road--I don't want to be any where near you when your tires blow.

The pressure is molded into the tire. Maximum pressure of 80 lbs. I assume they know what they are talking about. I really am not worried about them. First trip on Sunday. Probably won't have anything to report. Safe Travels.
