The r-pod has 2-inch thick walls. This includes 1/8" Luan, then styrofoam, and finally the aluminum shell on the outside. You won't have a problem mounting items to the sides of the wood cabinets, and there are aluminum studs above the windows (and below? not sure) which would offer a good mounting location for additional shelves.
However, the rest of the wall area may not be good for mounting heavy items unless you use mounts for this purpose. I've seen shelves and coffee pots mounted to the wall, so it can be done. Please post your wall-mounting solutions.

We have been to "scared" to put holes into the walls where there aren't studs, however, I am a big pusher for the 3M mounting strips. Those things are GREAT. Easy to mount and removes with no marks on the wall. I would love to know how others mount into the walls.

Thanks for mentioning them, we use them extensively at home and in the 'pod. Someone before posted links to various products in that family, can you find them and repost?

We just bought a lightweight wall mount for a flat screen 19 inch TV that, after many alternative thoughts, we will be mounting to the side of the refrig/microwave cabinet after reinforcing from inside the microwave cabinet. The mount has unlimited tilt positioning and allows the TV to be lifted off the mount for stowage with the slide in. I'll post pics as soon as we have it done. (I really just wanted to get a post in to say 'hi' and I'm here.....)

At the top of this page (as I'm typing) there are 14 little box type things. To insert a link all you have to do is have your cursor where you want the link to go. Then click on the 5th. little block thingy. It's the one that looks like a globe with a chain link on the bottom. A window will open up called: Hyperlink Properties. You will see where the link goes in. Do it then click on OK. If you copy a link and past it in just copy the part of the address starting with www. DO NOT COPY THE: http://. If you do the link won't work because this program already has that. Terry |
