My understanding of what I have read in other posts is that it cannot be retrofitted to previous 179s. The reason is that the roof is insufficiently braced on the older 'pods to support it. It is somewhat disappointing, because when it was first announced, it was hinted that it would be available to retrofit. However, it isn't a huge deal for me. I'll just keep using my homemade awning.
