Thank you. I checked out that site, and when I need another hose, I will look at them again. When Mr. Heater replaced the one hose under warranty, they sent one with the older style fitting. I will replace it with a hose with the Acme nut so I don't have to reach for a wrench when I need to change a tank. |

It could be that the washer in the tank opening broke down.
Grill hoses use a very large fitting. When I had to lengthen our 179's hose, I bought a hose with an inverted flare fitting, intended for a regulator built into an RV. The regulator on our Pod uses an NPT fitting, so I also bought a Camco inverted flare to NPT adapter. |

I ended up getting a hose at http://propanegear.com as they had the exact length I wanted and the price was right.

I had a leak at that same connection and replaced it with a part I ordered from Amazon. Easy 10 minute fix, just make sure you use the yellow teflon tape on the threads.

I had a hose leak, but at the other end where it attached to the regulator. It was at the equivalent joint there. It started leaking at less than a year old. Warranty replacement would have cost us more than replacing it myself by the time towing it to the dealer and back figured in.

Good point, about Home Depot, as it's only a mile away from me.
I'm at home now, just returned from a trip, so gas is off. Thanks.

Nothing against Amazon at all, but if you want to see what you're getting first hand, you can probably find hoses, etc., at Home Depot or Lowes, in the barbecue grill area.
I imagine you've already done this, but until you get this fixed you really need to turn the gas off at the tank. TT |

Thanks for the input. I suspected the hose should not leak at all. Looking for a replacement, I found a 2 ft hose which is what it is now, and a 5 ft hose from Amazon: http://a.co/g7uCmLM
I suppose 5 ft will do if I can't find something shorter. Does that look like the correct hose? Thanks!

Definitely get a longer hose, as mentioned above, no leak is normal under any circumstances. Good chance that the hose was stretched to allow for a connection with a taller tank. I looked at the hose on my 177; no way could I stretch it to fit a taller tank as I only have a few inches of leeway.

+1, no leak is normal, that hose can be exposed to the elements. Time to replace.
