Hi all. New member here. If this has already been covered I apologize. Just went on the first trip in our new 2017 model 179 Hood River Edition. Got to campsite and the slide out would not operate. The reason: The power AND ground wires on the control module vibrated their way off the spade connectors due to installers failing to sufficiently crimp the female portion of the connector.

To compound the problem the control module is NOT ACCESSIBLE when the slide out is in the retracted position. I will make another (more detailed) thread about the Ridiculous Modification I had to perform with pictures soon.

In the meantime: 179 OWNERS: PLEASE ACCESS YOUR CONTROL MODULE WHILE YOU STILL CAN AND CHECK-ADJUST-TIGHTEN THE SPADE CONNECTIONS ON THE CONTROL MODULE! It's located (at least on my unit)under the ottoman cushion next to the refrigerator. You might want to wrap them in electrical tape while you are in there as they are both unshielded AND in very close proximity to each other.

I love our new R-pod, but oh man do I have issues with the build quality!

Best, Richard

Wow....thanks for the info.  Will slide it out and check the connectors, for sure!  They seem to have a wire crimping problem (my speakers) along with other quality issues.

Is this an early model year, or late model year? The reason I ask, is because ours is an early model year 2017 R179 that we got last July (2016). Ours is still the 2016 colors. I don't think they switched to blue until later in the 2017 model year.

May not make any difference, but I've heard that they make changes all year long.

Our build date states " 12-14-2016" and it's a blue one.

And yes, I would guess every pod coming out of the factory is at least slightly different from the ones before or after.

Our catches on the ottoman compartment cover in our 179. We've started removing the cover and throwing it on the bed before we retract the slide.

Our was catching also and we now do the same - put the cover on the bed with the coushions.  My husband got out the finishing gun and reinforced all the trim which worked great.
