Topic: Tail Light Issue Posted: 18 May 2017 at 8:02pm |
My left tail light & blinker is not working. The night time lights work just fine. I checked the connection to the car and everything there looks good. Any suggestions?

yes, they are all leds. They work with the running lights just not tail light or blinker.

LEDs go bad. And aren't there two bulbs? If you've checked every thing else, check the bulbs. Real simple.

Once again the bulbs work fine with the running lights. They are the same bulbs. There are not 2 sets of bulbs. These are LED's so there are many tiny bulbs. They all work fine when the running lights are on but do not work with the brake light or blinker. The bulbs can not be replaced like a non LED light. The entire light assembly would have to be replaced so its not just a simple check of the bulb.

there has to be a wire that is loose. It takes two sides to run the lights.

Turn and stop is a single wire, tail lights is a single wire. Normally the GREEN wire is right turn/stop, yellow is left turn/stop and brown is taillights, to both sides. Can do voltage or continuity checks, my guess is a wiring issue. Make sure everything is working on TV, that would isolate to TT. The marker lights will be on the taillight wire. BLUF is there is only one wire that operates brake/turn on each side. Good luck.

Sorry, one other point. If it is shorted it would effect the performance of the TV taillight too, same circuit.

In my 180 I have access to the back of the tail lights in the rear storage compartment and through the bath cabinet. If you can get to it, all the wires are just behind the lights, sounds like a bad wire crimp to the light.(the installers work fast) Check them and test them for power with the blinker on. Could also be a bad light.
