my dealer said to put them up while towing but intuitively that seems to make them bang more against the tensioner strings. Opinions?

My wife say we always travel with them down..............................doesn't matter what the dealer says

You'll get some heat reflection with them down, potentially keeping the interior cooler. Not so with them up.
