Topic: Indoor/Remote Outdoor Thermometer recommendations? Posted: 06 Apr 2016 at 11:04am |
Does anyone have any Indoor/Remote Outdoor Thermometer recommendations? The cheap Dometic thermostat does not seem to show the actual ambient cabin temperature. Also, I would really like to know the outside temp as well. I am planning on using the type that has the wireless outdoor sensor, so I can get an accurate reading by locating it somewhere under the Rpod. Just wondering what brands/models people have tried.

I installed this from Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Clock-Thermometer-Voltage-Meter/dp/B00M6INHGI?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 I don't think they've got this specific unit any longer, but probably have something similar. It works well except the display needs to be seen head on. In addition to inside/outside temps it also displays battery voltage and time/date (and acts as an alarm clock). I installed over the bed on the kitchen side of my 178. I was able to tap to the furnace 12v source under the sink and mount the external temperature probe outside by skirting the wire through the slide. |

I'm going quick and easy with this one. I ran to Lowe's at lunch and they had a pretty good selection. I want to mount the display right above the HVAC thermostat, so I know the true temp in that exact spot, so I got one of the very basic units with a wireless outdoor sensor ($16). This way if the sensor some how gets destroyed by road debris, I haven't lost much of an investment.

We installed our outside sensor beside the door with velcro. When we are leaving a campsite we remove the sensor and store it inside. Safe Travels.

Get another and stick the remote sensor in the fridge.
