What I did was to get an over-the-tank spare roll holder. I took and glued a piece of wood at the top of the opening behind the sink to reinforce the edge. I hook the roll holder over this. The roll sits under the sink skirt where it is out of the way and protected somewhat against water splashing from the sink. However, it does not protect it against the shower, so we remove the roll if we are going to take a shower and put it back after things are dry again. We've forgotten to remove the roll a couple of times and had soggy part rolls a couple of times. Overall, it does work for us, and is relatively inexpensive.
