I've got a friend using my 171 and I just got a message from him that the running lights aren't working. Brakes and turn signals are working - just not the regular lights. Any ideas? Thanks

They are all independent circuits. From your TV connector. Start there. Need a test light or voltmeter. See where voltage is missing.

I just went through this on my '13 Ford Explorer.  Checked the basics like good ground and terminals on the Bargman plug, everything was good.  The culprit was a bad 10 amp powered tail light converter.  This one measured 1" tall x 3" wide and 5" long.  4 wires go into it and 6 come out and run to the Bargman.  On our Explorer it was accessed by opening up area by the left rear tail-light and fishing the box out.  Took the guy who replaced it about an hour.

BTW, everything was fine on the TV, and everything was fine on the 177 except no running lights, sounds about like the same problem as your friend.

I went through the same thing Jato described and was about to do it again when a friend forced me to check the connections at the Bargman.  It took a little cleaning and some dielectric spray clearner (WD40 will do).  The lights have worked fine ever since.  Even before that, maybe just try pulling the plug from the Bargman and putting it back in a few times to scrape off any corrosion.

Start with the simple, cheap stuff first.

Thanks for the tips - I'll send these his way and see what we can find. Hard to remotely troubleshoot...
