Just picked up our shiny new 171 last Monday and after rain Thursday and Friday the rear window leaked. Wet bedspread, mattress, and plywood. Not a good beginning. We had planned to sleep in it Sat. to test the beds.

It seems that the problem has come up before. You would think that the dealers would have a heads up and look for the problem. I would think it will be taken care of in a timely matter, but you do not need the hassle of taking it back to dealer to have work done on it.I would think the dealer would be embarrassed by it happing and make it up to you.

Yes, this is a common problem. A recall was supposed to have cleared this up but they must not have replaced the seal on yours.

Was there a recall never knew about that. The dealer put a sealent around ours it stoped the leak but now the sealent has mold all around it. I tried a mixture of bleach but that didn"t do much to stop the mold. It looks like the mold is deep and is under the sealent. If there is a recall we will make a appointment with camping world, hopefully to remove the window and replace the rubber seal. I will call ForestRiver and ask about the recall. Our camper is almost a year old I will have to check our records if the warranty is still valid. But if it was a previous issue they will proably still fix it under warranty. David and Danette

Mine is also at the dealer for a leaking rear window right now. I was not aware of a recall.

Sailor is yours a 171 also?? Has this happened to all of the pods or is it only after the 171?

No, mine's a 172. It didn't leak when it rained, but water was forced in somehow during a day of wet expressway driving.

Ok, I just searched all over and I can't find anything about a recall on the rear window seal. I thought I remembered something about that from all the discussions on this problem in the past. Sorry if I caused any confusion!
