Brand new 2018 179 Hood River Edition still sitting at the dealer. We're scheduled to take delivery of it tomorrow.

The larger (24" ??) TV hits the outside wall when you attempt to lay it flat against the cabinet for travel. All it would take is drilling four new screw holes in the metal bracket plate and mounting the TV a half inch or so inboard on the bracket. Dealer claims they can't fix it.

Anybody else ran it this problem?

Do I just ignore any of the defective items the dealer isn't going to fix and fix them myself? (Glue on the ceiling, footprints on the walls, leftover adhesive on the outside skin around the windows, broken drawer stop, loose interior trim)

I get that this problem seems to be industry wide but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it.

What is everybody else doing?

If you are like us, part of the rpod price was dealer prep. I would put the onus back on them or tell them to refund the dealer prep cost back to you!!

Exact same thing happened with our '17 179.  I pointed it out at the delivery and the tech person fixed.....took about 45 minutes.  He removed the tv and bracket, redrilled the holes, then remounted.  It clears the wall with a fraction of an inch now.

Unless you want that exact pod I would refuse delivery until it was right.  If the dealer wouldn't do it I would find another dealer.

Our dealer would have died of embarassment if we were treated that way. Make them fix everything or give you a discount or walk away. I understand the value of a dealer within a reasonable drive but if they don't come through on these things, I'm not sure I'd trust them to touch my trailer. Years ago I refused to let a service department fix the 13 problems they created during an oil change and tuneup. I met with the service manager to go over the list, but wouldn't let him fix and told him why (he was surly and defensive, they probably would have broken 13 more things). All of which is to say, give them the opportunity to make it right, and make it clear that you just assume that they will welcome the opportunity to do so. As if it was all just one big misunderstanding. Hope this helps and that you are soon enjoying your new RPod! (footprints on the walls? are they serious? is there bubblegum under the dinette???) Shocked

I never liked the TV mount that came with my 178. Nor did I find one that either looked nice or was easy to remove and remount. No matter what the mount, I think the TV should be stowed flat on a bunk. As I said, nothing I saw was worth the money or time...so I made my own out of some leftover maple flooring. Looks good, is stronger than original and I made several at one time so I can mount the TV in any one of my three man-caves - pod is my favorite cuz no-one expects me there!

In case you were wundering, and I'm sure your were, I call it...The WunderMount!

P.S. Someone here once said, "I didn't buy the rPod for what it was, but rather what it could be." I guess that's where I am too.

Best part is Leo, the insert can be used as a filet board! ....For very small fish.
