My 2017 180 came with the nitrogen filled tires.

I have no problem using air from my air compressor. I have seen all of the hype from tire dealers selling people on the "nitrogen" scam. Nitrogen is fine, I just won't go out of my way to use it.

If I owned some Indy race cars I would be using nitrogen, but good old air is fine in my opinion.

If you have 17 minutes of extra time, watch the video about nitrogen, this guy is entertaining.

Nitrogen migrates slower thru rubber than air. And it is less susceptible to temp changes. That being said Air is 78% Nitrogen. AND god luck finding Nitrogen with a low or flat tire.

Use Air.

I use air from Neptune.  It's is mostly helium and hydrogen so I am able to lower the weight of the trailer a little and the tires float better.  Evil Smile

That's pretty good Fred.  I like that.  We have used normal country air in our 2011 from the get go.  I also carry a tire pump if needed, for the 177, my tow vehicle or my road bike.   BTW Fred, how much weight do you take off your pod by using Neptune air?

Well, it gets a little complicated because air is invisible and it's really hard to put it on a scale and weight it. I weighed the tires on our bathroom scale both filled at 65 pounds of pressure and the weight difference was too small for the bathroom scale to detect, but it was an analog scale.  I figure it was about 6 ounces, but I'm just making that up.  The same with the floating.  I threw the tires into a lake, but it was too choppy to discern which floated higher, plus to add to the confusion I forgot to mark which tire was which.

So in answer to your question, I don't have a clue.  That's why I go by the alias "lostagain."  I hope that clarifies the situation.Big smile

I don't think I would want tires with a significant part of the "air" filling them is hydrogen. Remember the Hindenburg!

65 LBS? Wow my POD says on the label on the side, 50 LBS.... Sure you are not over-inflating? The verhicle sticker is the correct inflation pressure...

Many owners have swapped their tires to "D" rated tires, they run at 65psi. The "C" rated tires a Pod comes stock with run at 50psi. When it comes to ST "special trailer" tires, you DO run at the max pressure to insure the proper load carrying properties. Trailer tires are very different from passenger car tires.
