Looks like I’ve joined the infamous converter failure group sounds like it was just a matter of time. Battery won’t charge

Before you give up, please go on the WFCO site and download the troubleshooting guide. Then check and see if it is the converter or some other problem.

Welcome!

Also, how old? They have a two year exchange warranty.

Yes, there is a breaker for the charger in the rPod panel. There is an AC side ( circuit breakers) and a DC side (fuses). Also check the main fuses in the panel.

I believe the converter charging goes only to the battery then the battery connection supply's power to the 12 volt system in the trailer. So when you are disconnecting the trailer battery you are interrupting the power going to the 12 volt system on the trailer and also not allowing the converter to charge the trailer's battery.

The 12 volt system consisting of power from the battery to the radio, CO2 detector, tank level indicators, MaxAir bathroom vent fan, all in cabin (and outside) LED lighting, water pump, furnace fan and the furnace controller, water heater controller, antenna booster, fridge controller and cooling fan (s), break away switch on the brake system, and the USB charging wall socket (I think I have remembered all of the 12 volt powered equipment) will not work with a DISCONNECTED battery.

So leave the battery connected and see if the lights work then.  You can check the level of charge in the battery with a multimeter or you can install a more sophisticated battery monitoring system.

You have not explained why you think that the WFCO charge controller is not charging the battery.  If the battery needs to be charged and while the trailer is plugged into shore power it will over time fully charge a good 12 volt battery.  The trailer's battery hsa to be in good shape (able to accept a charge) or it should be replaced.

Hope this helps
Jay

Just came back from 4 day camping hook to shore power the battery died from no charging. Hook to tow vehicle an battery started charging. Batteries are expensive, if converter charging doesn’t happen soon it will kill another battery!

You can download a troubleshooting chart from WFCO to use to figure out if it is a converter problem or something else.

You can always search the forum. I am pretty sure I have posted this or a similar link before. To do so, you need to select the advanced search and then you can expand the date range for the search. It defaults to no older than six months. Some of the information is older than that, so you would need to set it to search for any date. This will help with searches on other topics also. One of the best things about this forum is the advanced search function. It makes finding information much easier than the Facebook forum.
