Hello from Beautiful British Columbia. There are not a lot of R-Pods here, but they are gaining in popularity. My wife and I bought our 2011 RP-171 in late August 2011, and unfortunately have used it only once (it was a busy fall). We are so happy with it. I have already done some modifications on it. Added a tee and and shutoff & 20`propane hose  for an outside barbeque. I also replaced the dinette table top with a smaller laminated pine top. We are looking forward to a trip to the Oregon Coast, only 6 hours away from here. We have a tandem kayak, and Thule 3-bike rear carrier that fits the R-Pod spare tire receiver. Next purchases will be R-Dome, and shaped cover. Oh and maybe a KOA seasons pass. Happy Trails! - Ray Parker

Welcome.  Keep a close eye on that rear receiver's welds.

Thanks for the heads up on the welds techntrek. The 2013's look kinda cool with the dark trim and beige body colour, but I like what I got. I'm towing with an '03 Dodge Dakota Quad, but hope to get something more fuel efficient in the near future.

Has anyone compiled a list, or roll call of small-medium tow vehicles, including experiences in tow-ability? FYI the local list price in BC for 2013 RP-171 is $17,995, & 2013 RP-177 $19,286.

Camper Bob: Can you recommend a nice price smart RV park on the Oregon Coast, perhaps somewhere between Astoria & Lincoln City?

Given that large a geographic area there are many campgrounds but have never stayed at any of them.  Just getting back into camping.  However, looking in the current Trailer Life Directory, Lincoln City has a very highly rated location called Premier RV Resorts-Lincoln City.  Good Sam rated and has 92 full hookups.  Last years rates were $39-$41/night.  Possibly others could suggest some locations too.  Frankly, after reading about the location, seems like someplace we would stay at.  Phone number for resort is 877-871-0663.
