I have had a pod for 6 years and have not seen anything similar.

Unfortunately I own it had it for about a year and a half took it on a long road trip about 2500 miles and it opened up like that. First Time for a long trip like that on the rough  highways and freeways obviously something is not aligned right and when it flexes a little bit it pulled the screws right out of the wood they screwed it into Disapprove It  even tour the  aluminum rock shield apart

It is likely the caulking there was bad, water got in and weakened the underlying wood.  I would contact a dealer to get their opinion on a repair.

The trailer is at camping world right now   Waiting to see if  Forest River will warrantee it but his opinion was after looking at it that they might over tighten the screws and that's why it opened up but they haven't opened it up yet to find out what  exactly what happened until there's approval for warranty

Just an update I pulled my trailer out to camping world of Las Vegas because it was down there one month and the person I dropped it off with would not even take his time to call Forest River for me and that was all he had to do was call and talk to see if they will warranty or not   I even gave him the phone number and the contact information of the person he needed to talk to but I guess he was just too busy for me to make a phone call so I went there and  picked it up I could only imagine how long it would take if they actually had to work on it Thumbs Down  Pretty upset with camping world but I'm sure forest river was going to take care of it so very pleased with the response I got from Forest River but for now I'm going to try to fix it myself and hope the side don't fall off  just a side note that other dealer that dealt with Forest River products wouldn't even take it here in the Las Vegas area
