Looks like the spoiler could be installed aftermarket on the older units.  would just want to make sure that you get the right place before mounting.  wonder if dealers would be able to get them.

Hopefully Forest River will get back to Techntrek on this.  Again, it would be great PR for the company and if it could be also used as an aftermarket that would be good for us.  It would be nice to see or hear any mpg improvements they expect from the spoiler.  Thanks for posting the information.

Was searching my dealer's (Campkins RV in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada) website. Here is a picture of a 2011 R-Pod 177 they have in their showroom. What is that thing above the rear window??????????? I am going camping this weekend but will make a trip to my dealer next week to see the spoiler!

So the 2011 177 does NOT have a slide out room?? I would rather have the slide than a spoiler.

WOW! Good point, this is not a 177. I checked the floor plan on the website and it does show a slide out. It looks like my dealer used the wrong picture. I have a 2010 177 and love the slide out. Will have to look into it next week. One thing for sure is that it does have a spoiler.

Question Is the spoiler there, to shall we say, spoil the air currents or a place to put the clearance lites? I think they are trying to cover a lite problem with a little style added.

Based on previous discussions, FR is aware that they have a large vacuum pocket behind the pod.

I guess we will have to wait to hear reports on mileage while towing these newer units.

If there is an increase, I sure hope FR develops a kit for those of us with older units.

Now that I look at it I think this is a picture of the HRE, similar paint job but it does not have the front diamond plate, but it is from a Canadian web site, very confusing. I looked further on my dealers web site and they are showing pictures of other 2011 177's and they don't have a spoiler and have the decals of my 2010 177. So I don't know if they inserted pictures of the 2010 177 and called it a 2011.

   The fenders have reflectors or lights, that is another change. It is definitely a better improved R-pod.        David and Danette
