You'll love your 179.  This mattress is awesome (10inch spring version) and I like it better than any mattress I've ever owned.  I have some lower back issues.  This mattress is firm yet soft and comfortable, not hot like some of the memory foam versions out there.

Welcome.  We used 3M hooks in our pod w/o a problem, and have them in our current camper.  A/C, you can run it from a 120 volt outlet (15 or 20 amp) at home just make sure nothing else is on the circuit.  Fridge, as others have said, run it on propane.  Pretend the 12 volt option doesn't exist.  Do use the 120 volt mode to pre-cool it at home overnight before a trip.
