The hot water method works great - as long as you don't have direct sun on the tank. Pour on a cup of hot water from the top shoulder, wait 10 seconds, then run the back of your finger down the tank. Just remember that when full it will still only be 80% full (about the bottom of the top shoulder).
Dang it Bum and Charlie, don't tell me there is a tech gadget I don't own yet that I must now eventually buy!
