Yes. It's designed to rest on its own legs; you fold it down by pulling the back forward until it clicks, and then it lays flat. In the 179, the legs aren't used and it's easier to grab the seat and pull up instead. |

Can you tell us which futon you purchased at IKEA? We are considering same thing. Already leveled out the area with different layers of high density Styrofoam now looking for comfortable sleeping surface.
