Have you considered just renting a u haul pick up truck  to get your trailer to SLC?  This might give you more time to find the tow vehicle you are looking for.

I did look at a U-Haul truck that had a hitch, but the problem is that they don't come with the brake controller. That would be a big problem.

If it would be possible I have known with animal rescue groups volunteer's will take turns driving a distance and will shuttle a animal to it's destination. Perhaps with podders helping podders this could be done shuttling your camper back home. My wife often tells me I don't make any sense how about now does this make sense?

We are purchasing a used Nissan Frontier which has the tow package. Then we will be able to go and get the R-Pod. It has a 6000+# tow rating. I have the brake controller adapter cable on order for overnight delivery. Hopefully, we can get the R-POD here before the weekend.

Glad to hear that you've at least resolved part of the problem.

This is a bit older Nissan. It is a 2010 Frontier LE 4x4 crew cab V6.  A couple of nice features this one has is that it has the roof rack (for mounting our wind deflector) and a cover for the cargo area as well as the bed extender and the rails for tie down brackets. It should serve us well.

You will be happy with Frontier. I towed my rpod from Ohio to Colorado (1200 miles)without any issues.
I do not have brake controller.

You have to have a brake controller, that is the law.
If you want something done right, do it yourself.

Every state in the Union says if the trailer has brakes, they MUST be functional. They also all give a weight at which trailers must have them, while the weight varies, in all states, the Pod's GVWR of 3500 pounds meets the threshold.

If you are towing without a controller, you are not only driving dangerously, you are breaking the law, and heaven forbid you are involved in an accident.

Your R-Pod has electric drum brakes for a reason. Without a brake controller installed in your tow vehicle, how can the R-Pod electric brakes get activated???? You must be making your Frontier do ALL the work of an additional 2500 or pounds of payload braking? Think about it.  Super dangerous. MUCH longer emergency stopping distances...

Please spend $150 and get a good proportional brake controller and install it NOW.. It's not even very hard to do, and paying someone to do it can save you or someone else.
