I just got thru upgrading the television in my 179 to a 24" Samsung smart TV.  The way I got it to fit is I took the old TV down and unscrewed the plate that held it to the wall.  Then I fabricated a new plate for the wall.  What I did was to use some metal stock that was the same thickness and made a new plate that was twice as long and then bolted the old plate to the new one and screwed it back into the same holes.

Now my 24" TV still swings back to the wall as before it just sticks out 4 inches when it is swung all the way out.

2014 179
1. Made cutting board/work area over burners.
2. Installed 12v USB iPhone charger in cab side by entry door.
3. Installed a second battery.
4. Installed dimmable LED light fixture over bed. Added reading lights on bed wall, battery type with tape.
5. Added 2" memory foam over mattress.
6. Used command strips for key holder, pot holders, towels and small trash container.
7. Replaced kitchen faucet and sink. Teed off with pec water line and shark pec fittings in preparation for running outside water lines to right of spare tire.
8. Purchased Costco storage containers (the black and yellow ones) to hold :
BBQ stuff
Spare clothing and sheets/blankets
Awning and hammock

Food, containers and extra cooking supplies.
All these containers fit into my camper shell along with folding chairs, small ladder etc. This keeps the rPod lighter and more organized.
9. Purchased a Honda generator.
Future:

2. Converter for 110 v TV
3. Battery shut off switch.
4. Curtains to replace blinds.

My favorite mod so far has been the LED flood lights I installed under the trailer. Two in the back and two in the front pointing outward slightly. These are wired with a relay to the center pin of the wiring harness. This way my lights come on automatically when the tow vehicle is in reverse. I always get to camp after dark and this makes backing up stress free!
I also Installed a 6" PVC tube under the trailer to hold a 6x9 rug.
Other mods include a 12v socket and dual usb behind the tv, pop-a-plate despencer and paper towel dispencer.

Very first mod. Electric jack. Cranking sucks.
Cordless drill & fitting for stabilizers. Cranking sucks again.
4 point load/Sway stabilizer.
3" foam on mattress.
DirecTV receiver and dish. Receiver mounted.
Weather station.
We carry a portable ice maker. Fridge cannot make enough ice.
Miscellaneous shelves for dishes, paper towels, food, etc.
Soap, shampoo and conditioner dispenser mounted in the bathroom.
Wireless propane tank monitor.
Portable tote for storage for extended stays.

Future mods:
Dual propane tank rack. Have the rank and piping.
Modify propane line for gas grill. Get the line off the regulator.
Command strip wall shelving in various locations.
Wall mounted illuminated clock.
Exterior Thule LED lighting.
Screen for Thule awning.
6 or 8" pipe storage underneath Pod. Whatever will fit. Chairs, fishing rods, etc. holder.
Slide out drawers for storage compartment. At least for small items.
White dry erase board.
Modify center seating for storage under cushion. Not sure if that is possible.

Another alternative is one I chose and that is to install a double step in place of the single step. Ours came with the risers. The first times out, we used a small step-stool. The second time, I had purchased an exercise step bench which worked pretty well. I still use it at home. It is larger and therefore safer than the small step-stool I first used. I then decided to install the double step. That is a great option and not too expensive. You can see it in my mods (link in signature).

My 2013 176T came equipped from the dealer with risers & 15" wheels.  It has easily handled some mean and nasty crosswinds (45 - 50 mph), and never being blown "out of line" with the TV.  I use a Reese WDH, and no anti-sway system.  The two or three times I was really concerned about crosswinds, I put water in the tank to add some weight to the bottom & lower the center of gravity,  and I'm not sure I even needed to do that.

The other obvious benefit is the added ground clearance.  Now in my fourth season, I have not done any bottom-damage or hit a rear jack.

The only downside, and this just manifested itself this summer... my wife broke her hip last Spring, and the height of the exterior step from the ground was too much for her.  I made a two-step box & that helped with that situation.  It might be something to consider for those who have trouble with steps.

I noticed no difference in stability with risers.
