I'm sure that everyone remembers the Heartland MPG (see the Heartland RV: the Pod Copy Cat thread).  Well, it looks like Forest River has decided to sue, claiming that the MPG's floorplan is a violation of Forest Rivers' copyright for the RP-176 (link)

Thanks, Outbound.  That's interesting.  I haven't been keeping up on the RV sites like I should....any idea what happened with the other two lawsuits mentioned?

Hope to see you "out there"

David, to tell you the truth, I've only been following RV Daily Report for the past 4 months.  I'm not really familiar with the lawsuits.

But, I did just stumble across Heartland sues Forest River over Improved Turning Radius Patent.  It looks like these two companies may be locked in an eternal battle over IP.

I'm with techntrek: pop some popcorn, open a frosty one and sit back and watch the action.

I'm thinking it may be wise to find out if any have rolled to the dealers yet.  I'm strongly wanting to get one.

RPodcamper , I spoke with Heartland and they told me the MPG should be avilable to be delivered to the dealers in Febuary. As far as design, lightbulbs look alike I think that camping trailers at times may look alike. There is only so much space to work with in a small trailer as far as design goes. Time will tell what the outcome will be, it sounds like a waist of money on legal fees.  David

I agree about the out come.  We almost bought a Icamp Camper right before finding the Rpod.  They had some really neat features but a few items worried us.  One was not many where over here in the states so I was not sure if something major happened to them would it get rapaired, the second was a lack of a real bed.  I'm not sure totally how I would have liked the table bed.
