On our trip out east the brakes started acting up, first noticed the pod would pull to the right a little when I used the brake controller. Then the next day my instrument panel would say "trailer disconnected" when I tried the controller, and I had no trailer brakes. When I got home I checked everything from the fuses, to the whip, brake cutoff switch and my trucks trailer socket. Finally climbed under the pod and turns out wires on both sides had come off of the connectors at the drums. Both wires on the drivers side, and 1 on the passenger side, I pulled (not real hard) on the remaining wire that was still connected and it pulled out pretty easy. Re did the connections and now everything is fine. You can see in the picture that the stripped part of the wire stayed in the connector. My theory is the wire to the brake is thinner and kinks tight right out of the connector to the drum and eventually broke.

  Just maybe something to check.
