Just got my new 178 - and still love it!

What I don't love is the turkey designer who put the low point drains almost behind the driver-side tire under the slide-out! And then, the foully feathered creature that he is, used caps that take a wrench (two,, actually) to remove.

Took the drain caps off today to ensure the lines were clear - and one of them has no washer.

Someone, I'm sure, knows where to get drain caps? The washer that was in one of them looks like a sleeve, not a simple O-ring.

I probably need a new cap....have one that drips no matter how tight I screw the cap.

Look to see if the "washer" stayed in the fitting, mine used to do that.

You can use a PVC threaded end cap from lowes etc, 1/2". Just buy a washer that fits down inside. I carry a few spares. You can also get them at any RV shop, about $1 each.

OR you can do something like this, which I did.. also from Lowes etc..

Valve

Thanks, Furpod
I really like the valve idea.  I'm sure that some day I'm going to dislodge the fittings at the end of the plastic drain hoses by torquing them with a a pair of pliers!

Appreciate you input .....

I like the valve idea too! I have the same fear about over tightening with the pliers! Will put this on my to-do list.
