Would it be fun to share other hobbies/activities we enjoy while traveling about in (our) r-pods?  Surely some of us hike, backpack, read, do photography, knit, fish, hunt, bird watch, study weather, study flora and fauna, watch the sky, enjoy HAM radio, or just want to see what's around the next bend.  Any geocachers or metal detectorists out there?

It might be interesting to share information, techniques, and good locations.  Also, through the enthusiasm of others, we may get inspired to learn new things!

We do a few items.  One of them is to play with food.  I like playing with the dutch ovens to see how I can get great smells flying around.  Nothing like make a cobler in the summer to go with home made ice cream from the hand cranked freezer.

We also enjoy hiking and Geocaching and also Kayaking.

We do alot of hiking with the dog.   If we are able to purchase a new tow vechicle soon, we will be able to also take our kayaks with us when we go camping and hope to do more kayaking.  The dog loves kayaking too.

I usually take my Ham radios along.  I sometimes read, take Dixie for hike, take pictures, talk to other campers, ruin good food on the campfire, and mostly just relax and unwind.  There are a couple of areas in my life that I use to escape the competition and conflicts of daily life...camping is one of those areas.  I do whatever feels good at the moment!

We like to take long walks/short hikes, read, play dominoes, take the dog out (when he can come with us).  Sometimes I knit, look for wi fi to use the computer which is how we stay in touch.  See new sights but mostly enjoy any nature we happen to be lucky enough to camp near.  There must be more things we do -------- oh yes, we just sit around and talk.

We enjoy taking walks, hiking, biking, reading, looking at the fire & stars, sight seeing, shopping and the latest...retirementLOL.  We are looking forward to visiting all the National Parks and everything in between.

Playing flyball with my dogs.  The main reason I got it.  This way I can stay on site and not have to deal with very bad hotels.

I like having more control over my meals and not depending on restaurants. Being able to come and go at will.  Having my very own cozy nest to enjoy with my personal things already in place.  Having a "home" away from home.  Being able to stop anywhere for a break and knowing if the weather is bad we can sit inside for that break.  Not looking for a bathroom constantly.
And we get to do what we want when camped,  all of the above mentioned stuff like reading, resting, walking, hiking, sight seeing, just being together without constant demands.
