That's the size and type (pure sine wave) we put in our 179 and it has worked out well. I can even run the humidifier on my CPAP with it.

That's a nice size, and I like the USB plugs. Two birds with one stone.

The Bestek 150W Power Inverter is the one I bought for use with the television. I have a larger one that I did not want to use for the television because of the larger power draw and the fan noise it makes when it is running. 150W is more than enough for the television plus it has dual USB charging ports which also can come in handy if you don't want to install a dedicated USB charging port alongside the 12V outlet you will need to install.

Been using this one for 4 years. Never had a problem with TV or laptops.

That is one honkin' inverter. Anywhere near 1000 watts would create >80 amp drain on the battery(ies), and require very large wires. I would rather see ~~ 400 watt inverter (which could potentially pull over 30 amps, which is still pretty hefty) that had a pure sin wave.

The inverter needs a 12V source, that can be a 12 volt outlet, but most are cigarette lighter plug adaptable or hooked directly to 12V line. According to Bum the TV is not high drain. So you have a wide choice. Look at Camping world, Amazon and etrailer for options. Personally I would go for a minimum 1000 watt. You're not trying to run the microwave. But nice to have more than needed. Recommend a sine wave or modified sine wave and the cooling fan operates when needed. My Pod didn't have a 12V plug until I added it on a spare 12V line.

Thank you for your helpful response.  We want it just to watch movies off our ipad while we boondock.  We do have a generator but it seems crazy to run it for two hours to watch move when I can recharge my battery in 20 minutes.  Do you have a recommendation on an inverter?  I assume the inverter gets plugged in to 12 volt outlet and then the tv?
