I am looking for a reading light to put over my bed in my 179 pod.   I would like it to be battery operated so I wouldn't need to run wiring on the outside wall.    I think some one here had posted up some before but I couldn't find them in a quick search of the forum.

Not sure if you would be interested in it but have you ever considered using a headlamp?
That is what I use plus it is good to use if you need light outside and don’t want to carry a flashlight.

We use LED book lights purchased from Barnes and Noble.  They clip on all sorts of stuff and are quite bright.

I have used those in the past as well but I must have gotten the cheap ones since they weren't very bright.

the one I use has 3 brightness settings but those can be a little pricey if you are just using to read. I also use mine for fishing and going out duck hunting on my kayak in the early morning.

The ones we have are really bright and have a brightness setting.  Five LEDs in the head and run off 2 AAA batteries.
