If you check out this link to my mods where I describe my step replacement, you will find pictures and a description with model number of the one I used.

Watts,

I went with FLEXCO, see cut and paste of old post below. Both types require small mod, but Lippert is short.

"We just replaced our single step with Flexco Double steps from Etrailer, cost is $89 and well worth it.   I'm sure several of you have experienced sore knees or legs after going in and out of you pod several times a day camping. We've been searching and have read some other postings about adding new steps. We found 2 types on etrailer.com, 1 is by Lippert LC341500 which I know several podders have used and had to make adjustments because they are only 25 1/4" wide mounting bracket to bracket. The pod steps are 26" bracket to bracket and so are the Flexco SMFP-2100. We were able to use the same mounting bracket as the old ones and only had to make the back hole a little bigger it only took 30 minutes or less."

It probably depends on whether you have axle risers. We don't on our 179 and we found that the bottom step on the Flexco unit was worthless, rising only a couple of inches above the ground. The Lippert step spacing is much better.

Good point, I have risers and the FLEXCO was easiest to modify to fit.

Mcarter, thanks for the advise about the Flexco double stairs.
The specs on etrailer about those stairs say the mounting base is 26 1/8 inch wide.
So I went out and took a careful measurement of the mounting base on my 2014 178 and it is indeed 26 1/8 inches wide.

THANKS!
JIM

I think you will have to elongate two holes, I did, easy enough with drill.
